WARNING |
Please DO NOT use our mushroom images for the purpose of identifying edible wild mushrooms. The vast number of species in this genus, coupled with the fact that many edible mushrooms have poisonous look-a-likes, make identification very difficult. For instance, the deadly amanita "Destroying Angel" (in it's early form) is often misidentified as the one of the edible agaricus species - sometimes to great peril. We are NOT experts in mycology, and we have assuredly made several identification errors. Under certain conditions eating any of our listed mushrooms can cause illness - or worse. Before eating any wild mushroom it is IMPERATIVE that you are absolutely certain of its identification. On the other hand, if you are interested in exploring a fascinating showcase of texture, design and beauty, please enjoy our presentation of God's artistry in the world of mushrooms. |
